I believe that it's important to have a positive, nurturing environment in which to learn. Therefore, my expectations for our classroom community reinforces positive behaviors with verbal praise, small incentives, and Student of the Week and Student of the Month awards. Negative behaviors are redirected and in steps, dealt with appropriately. I believe in individual attention to all behaviors. I meet with students on an individual basis to discuss behavior, whether it's positive or negative. I enjoy teaching and it is my priority to create a family environment which the kids won't want to miss.
Students will need the following items.
~ Pencils: Please make sure your child has a pencil AT HOME as well.
~ Large eraser
~ Box of facial tissue: Please bring one box on the first day of school and one box after Winter break.
~ Water bottle: Please make sure it's an appropriate size for a desk. I will be making sure they go home on Fridays for cleaning.
~A sock: I know this sounds strange, but I have found the an old (but clean) sock from home works great at
erasing the white boards the students will be using on a daily basis.

Homework is assigned every Monday - Thursday. I have not given homework on a Friday in the past two years and don't plan on it this year. There are some occasions that call for homework to be cancelled. I will send a note home or stamp the students agendas in these cases. It's usually only a few times a year.
Please sign your child's agenda every Monday - Thursday night. **If the agenda isn't signed by a parent or adult family member, the student receives a zero for that day. Please make sure their homework is done and the agenda is signed nightly.
