Spalding Language Arts
We use The Spalding Method which is a total language arts approach, providing explicit, sequential, and multisensory instruction in spelling, writing, and reading. It is a phonics based program and reaches a wide range of students. It is especially effective with our ELL students.
Saxon Math
The third grade teachers are excited to announce the successful implementation of Saxon math last year. I am very excited for even more growth with my students this year, now that I have a year's experience behind me. Saxon is a standards based curriculum, which will ensure your child receives a well rounded mathematic education.
Apple
We will be using our new Mac Mobile lab for technology education. It is equipped with MacBooks, Apples' laptop computers and the kids typically love working on them. This year I will be introducing my students to iMovies. By year's end I hope to have the kids creating their own movies. Promethean
Promethean is a global leader in interactive learning technology that empowers teacher to engage, educate, assess, and motivate learners. This technology enables me to create lesson plans that integrates text, images, web, video, and audio content so that I can more easily and successfully capture students' attention and accommodate different learning styles. Most importantly, the kids absolutely love the board!
